SEATTLE – Archbishop Paul D. Etienne has announced the latest pastoral appointments in the Archdiocese of Seattle, effective July 1, 2024, unless otherwise noted.

PAROCHIAL VICARS

A parochial vicar is a priest who serves in pastoral ministry as a co-worker with the pastor, through common counsel and effort, and under his authority (CIC, c. 545 §1-2). The term of office for parochial vicar in the archdiocese is generally one to three years. 

Priests appointed parochial vicars and their parish families are: 

Father Celso M. Márquez, M.Sp.S., Parish Family 10, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (Bothell) and St. Pius X (Mountlake Terrace), effective Aug. 3, 2024.

Father Kyle J. Poje, Parish Family 28, Mary, Queen of Peace (Sammamish), Our Lady of Sorrows (Snoqualmie) and St. Joseph (Issaquah), effective Aug. 10, 2024.

Father Brian T. Myers, F.S.S.P., Parish Family 53, North American Martyrs (Edmonds), effective July 22, 2024.

Father Jacob O. Kasak, F.S.S.P., Parish Family 54, St. Joseph (Tacoma), effective Aug. 1, 2024.

Father Leonardo Pestaño, Parish Family 21, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette (Seattle) and St. Francis of Assisi (Burien), effective Oct. 1, 2024.

CHAPLAIN

A chaplain is a priest appointed by the archbishop to provide pastoral care to a faith community within the archdiocese (CIC, c. 564). The term of office for Chaplain in the Archdiocese of Seattle is generally one to three years.

Appointed chaplain is: 

Father Patrick R. Sherrard, Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien.

IN RESIDENCE

A priest in residence lives at a parish and provides sacramental support on occasion.

Father Paul R. Pluth, Parish Family 4, St. Augustine (Oak Harbor), St. Hubert (Langley) and St. Mary Mission (Coupeville).

Father Philip L. Boroughs, S.J., Parish Family 18, St. Joseph and St. Therese (Seattle), effective Sept. 3, 2024.
